St Margarets Fair 2023 Music Lineup

This year promises another eclectic mix of music from local artists recording and gigging in our area. Expect to hear ska, punk, blues, folk, indie and rock throughout the afternoon.

Every year our programme includes up and coming young musicians representing not-for-profit band projects and local youth music charities. This year, Artaca, the winners of the music competition "Battle of the Bands" will take to the stage. The competition was a sell-out show at The Twickenham Exchange in April.

Our headlining band, The Trojan Beats, an 8-piece ska band, will be on stage from 5:00 - 6:00 pm playing reggae and two-tone classics. So tell your friends, grab a drink and enjoy the music!

Powerjam

Minor Revelation is a talented teen band formed 3 years ago at Powerjam, the local not-for-profit band project for young musicians. Their debut single will be recorded and released through Powerjam Recordings, a label allowing young musicians to retain full copyrights.

Bring the Angels

Bring The Angels is a southwest London-based rock band, playing heavy blues, hard and contemporary rock covers, and originals. The band met while they were students at The BRIT School, Croydon and have been gigging together in London since January 2022. Bring The Angels are: Lucy Gowen (guitar), Young Athena (vocals), Frankie James (Bass) and Ollie Menist (Drums).

Artaca

Artaca are an original teen indie band (14-16 years) who’ve been writing, producing and gigging together for over 5 years. They’ve had lots of radio play and Oscar, their lead singer, has sung on TV and was a finalist in BBC singing talent show Got What it Takes (2021). Artaca are this year's The Basement Door ‘Battle of the Band’ winners - a competition for new and emerging talent.

Pete Cogavin

An accomplished singer-songwriter, his style of song-writing draws on troubadours such as Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen with folky elements of his native Ireland apparent throughout. He has performed at international festivals in France and Canada (Donnacona Blues, Nice Jazz Festival, 2012) as well as on French national television (Taratata, 2012) and radio.

Lemon Sharks

Lemon Sharks are an Isleworth-based band with roots in the alternative 80's music scene. They will get your feet tapping with everything from The Cult and the Specials to their own originals encompassing reggae beats and a pinch of punk. Their song `Riverboat Ska', out on Spotify soon, reflects their riverside lifestyle.

The Fades

The Fades are a post punk band with band members originally from St Margarets. The Fades are now out with their new album Night Terrors – a bunch of garage-rock future classics written during and after lockdown. With DJs like Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy & Marc Riley supporting various releases, The Fades are a band who’ve consistently turned adversity to their advantage, finding the best in life while not taking themselves too seriously.

The Trojan Beats

Specialising in Ska, reggae and two-tone classics, The Trojan Beats have been together for five years and have enjoyed great success and recognition from playing numerous festivals, scooter rallies, pubs and clubs across the country. The band’s 6ft+ frontman ‘Two-Tone Malone’ is fast becoming a favourite with audiences, with his lively performances and unmistakable 2-Tone haircut.
