Music at the fair on Saturday 11th July 2009

11.45am - 12.35pm, The St Margarets Elastic Band

The St Margarets Elastic Band is a very popular local band that plays a diverse range of music – big band, swing, jazz and well-known popular songs. They might even occasionally leap into a quiet almost classical mood. They’ve played at many local and regional events including exchange visits with the Union Musicale to Richmond’s twinned town, Fontainebleau. If you would like them to play for you or if you’re interested in joining the band then visit their website www.elasticband.org

2.00 pm - 2.40pm, Orleans Park Soul Band

The Orleans Park School Soul Band was formed six years ago by local music teacher Roger Perrin and has been one of the favourite attractions at the St. Margarets Fair for the last four years.

They play soul hits from the 60’s and 70’s by the likes of James Brown, Stevie Wonder Aretha Franklin and Dusty Springfield.

3.05pm - 3.45pm, Alix Anthony Band

Alix is unique - he sings, plays amazing guitar, and dances too… backed up by top Twickenham musos Scott Clark on drums and local Tenant Finder Dave McGeachie on bass.

Classic soul and rock covers - from James Brown to Jimi Hendrix.

4.15pm - 5.00pm, Nark Drool and The Shudders

Nark Drool and the Shudders, featuring the fabulous Shudderelles, are living proof of the health giving properties of N.H.S orange juice and a daily dosing of Virol.

Some of the band were born in the 1940’s - “Wanna buy some nylons, guv?”
Some were born the 50’s - “Can I have sixpence to buy a Mars Bar, Mummy?!"
Some were born in the 60’s – “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!” but together they produce the finest rock ‘n’ roll music this side of the Thames.

So dig out those blue suede shoes, scrape together what’s left of that quiff, squeeze into that ‘waspie’ for one last time - and get ready to rock. You’ve got nothing to lose - apart from the blues!

5.30 pm - 6.15 pm, The Allbeats

The Allbeats are loosely based around the Richmond/Twickenham area and have been performing their set of classic 60’s smash hits from England’s finest groups of that era: Beatles, Rollings, Faces (Small of course), Who and The Kinks.

They have performed all over the country and parts of Europe too for the last four years entertaining at corporate events, weddings, parties funerals, festivals - the lot.

6.45 pm - 7.35 pm, Bulge

If you love to boogie, then put on your platforms, stick the glitter on and get on down to Bulge.

Yes, 70’s Glam Rock lives again!!
Bulge plays the best of the sparkly pop from that unforgettable time.

We think it’s guaranteed to get your tiger feet going.

So if Slade, Mud, David Bowie, T Rex, Alvin Stardust or Sweet and all the rest of the great 70’s bands are your thing then you’ll love Bulge!
