The Orleans Park School Soul Band

The Orleans Park School Soul Band was formed nine years ago by a group of year 10 pupils with the help of local music teacher Roger Perrin and have been one of the favourite attractions at the St. Margarets Fair for the last seven years.

They play soul hits from the 60s and 70s by James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Dusty Springfield.
Every year the lineup changes as older students move on and younger ones join the band.

Havana Good Time

havana good time

Havana Good Time rejoice in Cuban music, especially salsa. The band is big and noisy, full of enthusiastic amateurs led by a pro, Tim Sharp. It is foot-tapping stuff, with lots of percussion driving irresistible Latin rhythms. HGT are based in Kew but play at parties and functions world-wide. OK, south-west London anyway.

The Haywood Sisters

the haywood sisters

The Haywood Sisters are a vintage style vocal trio who bring glamour and perfect harmony to any event.

Made up of Georgi Wooderson, Kathryn Ryan and Emily Matthews our experience ranges from performing in West End musicals, providing jingles for Jazz FM and singing live on Sky Sports at Wimbledon Stadium.

Our musical style is influenced by The Boswell and Andrews Sisters including 1920/30′s Jazz, 40′s wartime favourites, 50′s Swing and the occasional modern pop song.  We can tailor make our sets to suit any occasion and guarantee a good toe-tapping time is had by all.

Rising Stars Talent Contest Winners

rising star winners

At the Ailsa Festival, July 5th – 7th, (Ailsa Tavern,
St. Margarets Rd., Twickenham) as well as top live bands, jams, workshops, an open mic, real ales, great Mediterranean inspired food and a hog roast, there was a music talent contest, called “Rising Stars”!

Today’s St Margarets Fair spot is being performed by the winner of this contest, who was chosen from 20 entrants by three judges with music business contacts!

The contestants were a mixture of solo singer / song-writers as well as full rock bands – so it will be interesting to see who will be on stage at the St Margarets Fair. Whoever they are – they’ll be amazing!
For more information about events at the Ailsa, see

Dr. Ika's Pharmacy

Dr Ika's Pharmacy

The trio "Dr. Ika's Pharmacy" was established in 2012 by:
IVAN HOE - is an outstanding drummer from Johannesburg, South Africa. Ivan played with several jazz, rock and blues bands in UK. Currently he is a drummer in the Grapevine Blues Band.

ANDREW HEART - Over the years, as a bass player/vocalist/guitarist, has played with a number of great artistes. From the early days with Billy Idol, through Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy), Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), Bob Geldof, Micky Moody (Whitesnake), to more recently with Mick Avory (The Kinks), Gus Isidore (Seal), Reg Isidore (Robin Trower) and Hud (Strawbs, HudsonFord).
Dr. IKA - guitar, vocals started to play piano at 7 and classical guitar at 12. After listening to Albert King, B.B. King and Albert Collins, Ika had discovered the Blues. Later, after having heard the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, he fell in love with rock music, which was a strictly forbidden fruit in the USSR, and Ika started to play electric guitar.
From1986 to 1989, Dr. Ika lived and worked as a scientist in Sweden. He played with top jazz and blues musicians, such as Jimmy Smith, Richard Roberts,  and Tom Levin, and has twice performed with the legendary B.B.King - an unusual claim to fame for a neurosurgeon. In 1993 Dr. Ika and his wife were awarded Royal Society Fellowships to carry out research at Cardiff University. They left Georgia for good, and immigrated to the UK.

Dr. Ika now lives in Hertfordshire, and has devoted himself entirely to music. Dr. Ika performs about 200 gigs a year with both Grapevine Blues Band and in a duo with singer Mike Chase.
He has produced the following albums: "Grapevine Neo Blues", "Dr Ika's Blues..." and "Dr Ika's Tribute to Miles Davis and John McLaughlin".

In May 2002 Dr. Ika was signed by "Blues Matters!" label. At present Dr. Ika is signed to the UK's virtuoso guitar label - Liquid Note Records.
